Colt appoints new Legal and Commercial Director

We are delighted to announce the appointment of James Liddiard as Legal and Commercial Director of the Colt Group (“Colt”) with effect from 11 September 2017.

James started his career as a trainee solicitor at Blake Morgan LLP in 1994, before qualifying into the corporate and commercial department at the same firm in 1996. Thereafter, James practised as a corporate lawyer in London, first at Dechert LLP (from 1997) and then at DLA Piper LLP (from 2000), before joining Innovation Group, the business process services provider, as their first in-house lawyer in 2002.

James brings a wealth of corporate and commercial experience from his time at Innovation Group, overseeing numerous corporate transactions and material commercial contracts, and culminating with being a key member of the Innovation team that sold the company, which was listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange, to private equity for £499m in 2015. James was also company secretary at Innovation Group, and will also be appointed into that role at Colt.
