This new sports stadium in Frankfurt has a total seating capacity of over 43,000 people. A minimalist supporting structure combined with a flood of natural light through the translucent roof provide the FIFA World Cup stadium with a soaring, cathedral-like atmosphere. The new arena has already hosted the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 Final between Brazil and Argentina.
The stadium was designed by Architect Gmp Architekturbüro in Berlin. Colt provided static Smoke Curtains which comprise a flexible, heat resistant fabric

hung from the building structure which will channel or contain smoke in the event of a fire, or for sealing off an area to contain a fire and to prevent it from spreading to other areas. Colt also supplied and installed a series of Smokemaster automatically operating smoke curtains. In addition, a Colt Solarfin vertical external solar shading system was installed to reduce the glare from the sun.
