The Market dates from the 11th century and with over 200 stalls, is the largest open air market in England.
During the recent refurbishment of the Market, it was decided that the comfort of shoppers should be improved while still retaining the open character of the stalls.
Colt provided a system of motorised polycarbonate canopies to open in fair weather and close in poor weather, controlled by a Colt ICS 4-Link control system. Each canopy was sub-assembled in the Colt factory and moved to site for final assembly.
