The Life Science Centre, Newcastle Upon Tyne
This futuristic building was designed by Architect Terry Farrell, and is one of fourteen UK Millennium landmark projects, funded by the Millennium Commission, the Tyne & Wear Development Corporation, the European Development Fund, and the Wellcome Trust. The Main Contractor was Laings.
The Life Science Centre explains some of the principles that underpin our creation, and enables the public to explore the key areas of new life sciences and the significance of DNA through the use of the latest entertainment technology.
Colt supplied vertical solar shading fins, special Meteors, Kameleons and Seefires for comfort control, smoke control, and natural ventilation, controlled by the OPV control system.
