Colt Belgium

This office block at Schoonebekeplein in Antwerp was a refurbishment project led by Architect Buro voor Architectuur Paul van de Poel & Partners (Groep Stramien). The building dates from the seventies and was purchased by the company SD Worx who were looking for new headquarters.

The location was perfect, being in the neighbourhood of the beautiful Antwerp harbour, but the building required

major renovation without a large investment. The Architect felt that the Colt perforated metal louvre system was a logical way to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the building, while maximising natural daylight and at the same time avoiding the problems caused by solar radiation through glazing.
