Energie AG, Gmunden, Austria
Energie AG, with 4,400 employees, is Austria's leading utility infrastructure provider and one of the country's biggest energy suppliers. In addition to its core business as an electricity provider, Energie AG supplies gas, heat, environment, telecommunications, water and wastewater services through its many subsidiaries.
In spring 2006, Energie AG inaugurated their new office building at Gmunden, Austria after only eight months of construction. The Architects succeeded in building an energy-efficient modern office building.
Colt's products play an important role in this context. Colt provided vertical, movable glass louvres for this distinctive four storeyed round building. They serve to prevent glare and to offer solar shading, and in addition have an insulation function. The louvres have a turning angle of 270°, which was enabled because the actuation system is concealed within the mullions.
An ICS4-Link controller automatically tracks the sun's position. There is a local manual control for each individual office.
Team M from Linz were the Architects for this building.
