As a result of its good relationship with the Architect, Wulff and Partner in Stuttgart, when the Schwenninger BKK Health Insurance company were building new offices, Colt was asked to design and install a system which would provide solar protection as well as enhance the aesthetic impact of the building. The solution was a specially designed series of swivelling aluminium tubes acting as a controllable external solar shading system. Each powder coated aluminium tube had a diameter of 50mm. Modules comprising 17 tubes were fitted into bays measuring 3000mm x 1250mm onto all of the façades.
