State of the art in ventilation
Colt has won the tender for Nordural natural ridge ventilators in the potrooms. The customer chose the Colt Labyrinth because it had performed well at the Nordural smelter at Ahaus. The new smelter will consist of 2 potrooms, each approximately 1,200 m long.
Labyrinth being hoisted into position
The Labyrinth provides excellent performance relating to wind load, snow load and rain resistance. It ventilates continuously without the threat of rain getting into the building. For this specific smelter, the Labyrinth will be executed to marine quality standards due to its proximity to the sea.
The best solution
The Nordural smelter will be provided with the most efficient ventilation and the best price/quality/ performance ratio. Temperatures on the operating floor will be kept low thereby maintaining good working conditions.

Colt also is the supplier of air intake louvres in the basement. Those louvres will be hydraulically controllable from one central panel. The control logic takes account of wind speed and direction, thereby maintaining the ideal conditions in the potroom itself.
