Colt UK - Car park and roof top ventilation

Hilton Hotel, Manchester

Also known as the Beetham Tower Manchester, this is a mixed-use skyscraper building in the heart of Manchester.

Designed by Ian Simpson and built by Carillion, this is currently the tallest building in Manchester by a considerable margin. The Hilton Hotel rises up to level 23, and there are apartments from level 24 upwards. There are also 2 basement levels which contain car parking for the residents.

Colt supplied the car park ventilation, installing Cyclone induction fans on each level, and an extract system for the shaft. The Cyclone fans are low profile high velocity fans directing exhaust fumes or smoke in a controlled manner towards the shafts. Colt also supplied and installed 10 Seefire natural ventilators complete with OPV controls to the garden penthouse to provide ventilation to the internal garden area so that the client can control temperature and humidity levels.
